Walk With Friends! was created and is owned by a sole person—me—John Anderson. I respects the privacy of my users. This Privacy Policy explains how Walk With Friends! shares location data via a private channel with other people whom you the user has selected to share this information. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS THE APPLICATION.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the third-party online/mobile store from which you install the Application or make payments, including any in-game virtual items, which may also collect and use data about you. We are not responsible for any of the data collected by any such third party.
COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION
There is very little information that Walk With Friends! shares from your device. When you participate in a virtual walk with your friends, your location is never shared! However the percentage of the distance you have traveled on the route and the time of that information is automatically posted to the Apple’s iCloud servers, and is shared with the other people you have chosen to walk with.

Walk With Friends does not share ANY personal data!
Walk With Friends uses data from three Apple Health categories, Steps, Flights Climbed, and Walking + Running Distance. The first two categories (Steps and Flights Climbed) are used for informational purpose only. Walking + Running Distance is used to calculate the percentage moved along the routes you as a user have either created or joined. The date and time of the percentage calculation described above is shared between users on the route that you create or have joined. When you create or join a route the App will prompt you for your name. This name is shared between users on the route that you create or have joined. A random color assigned to you by the App is shared between users on the route that you create or have joined.
If you create and share a virtual walking route the name of the route is shared. The start date is shared. The start and end location is shared. The name you give yourself is shared effectively giving you one more layer of privacy.
The above two paragraphs explain the small amount of data being shared. None of it is considered personal sensitive data. Therefore, I feel confident in saying that Walk With Friends does not share ANY personal data!
When you choose to share a virtual walking route with friends, you do so through the normal communication channels offered on your Apple device such as texting, email, etc. All data that is shared between you and others using these services are subject to Apple’s privacy policies or to the privacy policies of any 3rd party App you might have on your phone that shows up in the standard sharing Apple view.
Because Walk With Friends uses Apple Health data, users benefit from all the security and data protection that Apple offers around this personal data

Walk With Friends! is designed to silently push notification and to silently accept notifications from other people whom the user has chosen to walk with on their virtual walks.
